Environment Policy and Action Plan

Environment is critical for lives every being. Population increase, urbanization, industrialization etc. causes environmental pollution a lot. Environmental issues have been very critical particularly after the second half of the last century. There is no doubt that this doesn't mean environmental issues did not exist beforehand. Both the quantity and the types of the wastes into the environment have increased because of population increase, urbanization and industrialization. Environmental pollution mainly emerge as air pollution, soil pollution and noise pollution.   

Our Mission

All individuals and entities of society have responsibility in protecting the environment. We as "Qualitasspa" aim to reach a perfect environment policy by controlling the impacts of our activities and services on environment in line with out environment policy and purposes.  We do this in 3 dimensions. First of these is Waste Management, second is legal conditions and third one is the natural resource use and development of environmentally good projects. Waste management practices consist of two parts mainly. First of these is to collect Packing Wastes (paper, metal, glass, plastic) separately, their temporary storage and send to recycling by licensed companies. Second one is the hazardous wastes required to be collected separately from the packing wastes.  Sorting the hazardous wastes from the packing wastes, temporary storage and disposal by licensed companies. Controlling the relevant wastes without any control causes air, water and soil pollution.    

Environment Policy

As "Qualitasspa" has a environmental management system including all units. Each assigned environment responsibles in this system work with the consultancy company officers licensed by Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Internal audit reports assumed to be conducted once a year in legislation are made every month. Prepared internal audit reports are evaluated every month in the environment coordination meetings at headquarters and replacement of system or eliminating the missing are conducted immediately. During these meetings, possible legislation changes are determined and necessary steps are taken beforehand.  As "Qualistasspa" wastes of each step are classified and recycled or disposed according to the legislations. As a consequence of the trainings applied to our employees at all departments, waste management is conducted with no error. Economy of waste management is well-performed in this process. We have a good knowledge on waste logistics.   

Not only "Qualitasspa" but also the "Qualitasspa" suppliers act in accordance with legislation of environmental management. All companies we work on waste management can work with us only after they have the relevant licenses.  Hazardous materials occurring in our facilities and defined in article 5 are stored in our hazardous material storing area and disposed in time.   

Environment and Energy Efficiency

When we list the applications of our company on energy efficiency as below; developing technology on lightning is always followed. In this regard, we prefer LED lights and save 60% in lightning. We try to benefit day light as much as possible. Therefore, we establish light band system on our buildings and heat transfer is minimized by filming the glasses of the light band.   

While constructing our buildings, heat insulation is established to minimize roof and ground and wall heat losses. While purchasing the air-conditioning devices, devices with high COP value are not preferred. With the developing technology, heat pumps, water cooled chiller are used.   

All sinks have fixtures with aerators to make water saving. Benefiting from solar energy is very important to our company. Solar energy is used for heating water and generating electricity. To make it more common, control of prices are regularly checked.   

Building automation is crucial for energy saving. Our entities are controlled with automation systems. We use thermal water for heating of building and supply of water. As thermal water is both a recyclable energy and environmentally friendly. Moreover, heat saving is provided by using heat recycling devices.   

Stack gas measurement tests are regularly conducted to prevent environmental pollution. Consequently, we perform these procedures because 2.165 kWh Electricity Energy = 5.370 kWh Natural gas = 1 ton carbon emission = 3 Trees, therefore any saving means protection of environment.   

Wastes of Our Facility and Disposal Methods Hazardous Wastes are sent to the licensed recycling facilities in line with the "Packs having residues of hazardous materials or contaminated with hazardous materials" numbered '15 01 10'.  Waste code of the waste oils defined in 'Waste Motor, Transmission and Lubricant Oils' numbered '13.02' have unique codes according to their types. In this regard, according to the result of 'Waste Oil Category Determining Analysis', they are delivered to recycling and disposal facilities.   

"Leaded Batteries" numbered '16 06 01' are separately collected from household wastes and delivered to the collection points determined by relevant firms or municipalities.   

"Fluorescent bulbs and other mercury including wastes" numbered '20 01 21' are separately collected from other solid wastes and where necessary disposed by licensed companies.   

"Vegetable Waste Oils" numbered '20 01 26' are regularly stored in special drums. They are delivered to disposal company in regular intervals.   

Packing Wastes and Others Wastes such as "Paper and cardboard, plastic packs, wooden packs, metallic packs, composite packing, mixed packing, glass packs, textile packs, waste cartridges" are stored in place irrespective of other wastes to reduce pollution and benefit the regular storing facilities at most. Moreover, package wastes stored separately not to cause any environmental pollution are given to licensed/temporary licensed sorting facilities or municipalities collection facilities upon request.   

As a result, it is good to say that the primary definition of environment issues created by industrialization and tourism has significantly changed recently. While environmental pollution was defined as only air, water and soil pollution, it is today defined as that environment is also a resource now and it costs us to use this resource. The main disadvantage of industrialization is directly the pollution on environment. In this regard, as "Qualitasspa" we make efforts to realize our responsibilities.
